Hamburger Pie Casserole Recipes
As a soon-to-be newlywed and housewife, this recipe was given to me as a wedding shower gift. Talk about the gift that keeps on giving! This casserole is simple to make and you'll find most of the ingredients stashed away in you pantry. It makes a lot and you won't mind.......it's that good:)

A simple meat and taters casserole; very old recipe; everything is kind of from scratch. I am sure you could use instant potatoes and canned beans. There are instructions on what to do if you want biscuits on this. In the old days they did that a lot. Just use your own biscuit recipe if you want to add them. This is going to be bland. Mid Westerners like their food that way; add more spices if you like.

- Meanwhile, make your pie crust but do not bake it. Press it into a deep dish pie plate and finished the edge as desired. Poke several holes in the crust bottom.
- When the hamburger concoction is cooked; drain it well and pour the whole of it into a large bowl. Add in the beaten eggs and thoroughly mix it up.

- Prepare Mashed Potatoes; set aside. In a large skillet cook meat and onion until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain off fat. Add the salt and pepper. Stir in fresh or thawed beans and soup; pour into a greased 2-quart rectangular baking dish or casserole.
- Spoon Mashed Potatoes in mounds on bean mixture (or, if desired, pipe potatoes using a pastry bag and a large star tip). Sprinkle cheese over the potatoes. Bake, uncovered, in a 350 degree F oven for 30 to 35, adding cheese the last 10 minutes, or until mixture is bubbly and cheese begins to brown. Makes 6 servings.
