  • To prepare this snack recipe, start by soaking the chana dal for a few hours in water. After a while, check the dal and drain the water. Spread a dry towel over a flat surface and place the soaked dal on it. Let it dry. Once it is dry, add the dal to a large bowl and sprinkle salt, red chilli powder and asafoetida over it. Toss it well to combine all the spices.
  • Meanwhile, place a deep-bottomed pan over medium flame and add refined oil in it. When the oil is hot enough, add the spiced dal mix to it and fry it. Make sure you stir it constantly so that it does not stick to one another. When the dal comes to the surface, take it out from the oil. Spread it on a plate lined with absorbent paper to soak up the excess oil. Serve it with a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy!
